Instructions
Step #1
Gather up all the supplies.
Step #2
Print out selected designs on StabilStick Template Sheets and cut them to size.
Step #3
Cut two squares 20” x 20”. Serge/Use overlock stitch to finish the edges
Step #4
Fold the edge down 1” to measure 19” x 20”. Press and stitch. Repeat on the other side
Step #5
Measure and place StabilStick Templates.
Center 7¾” from top finished edge, 10½” from edge.
Place the border design around the center design.
I used a grid pattern to evenly space the border design 3¾” from the centerlines.
Repeat markings on the other side.
Step #6
Hoop project. Hoop Medium Weight TearAway and duck fabric. Place the hoop on the machine.
Using the centering tools on the machine line up the first design. Remove the templates. (Save templates to reuse on the other side.)
Cover design area with StitcH2O. Secure StitcH2O with Expert Embroidery Tape TearAway. Stitch out the first design.
Remove the project from the hoop. Tear away excess StitcH2O. Use a damp cloth to remove the remaining StitcH2O. Tear away excess Medium Weight TearAway stabilizer.
Rehoop and stitch the next design. Continue until all designs are stitched out on one side—used designs NB886-48 for the center and NB871-48 for borders.
Step #7
Cut 2 strips of fabric 3½” x 26” for handles. Make handles and attach them to the embroidered bag.
Step #8
Serge, or sew the bag together, and then box the corners.
Optional – cut a piece of FiberForm to the size of the bag bottom and cover it in the same fabric. This will give the tote a solid base.
Viola! Your reusable bag is finished!
