Supplies:
- Winter in the Pines by Jackie Robinson 80386
- OESD StabilStick TearAway Stabilizer
- OESD Heat2Go Topper
- OESD Grippy Grid
- 3/16″ x 100ft Cotton Clothesline
Instructions:
Step 1
Start your placemat by making a coil with the clothesline. Hold the coil together with pins, then using a straight stitch, stitch an ‘x’ across the coil to hold the center in place.
Step 2
Wind the cord around the coil with the free end on the right (clockwise). Using a zig zag stitch, start to stitch the cord to the coil. Make sure one side of the zig zag catches the coil and one side catches the loose end.
Step 3
Continue stitching until the coil is about 14″ in diameter. Cut the clothesline and fold over the end, stitching to finish the placemat.
Step 4
Hoop the StabilStick TearAway. Remove the paper to expose the sticky side.
Step 5
Center your hoop on a Grippy Grid to assist with placement of the coil. Place the top right part of the coil in the center of the hoop. You can use StabilStick Template Sheets (not shown) to help with the placement of your design.
Step 6
Place Heat2Go over the project to keep the stitches from sinking into the cord. Stitch the design.
Step 7
Remove the topper and stabilizer, then press.
Step 8
Enjoy your new placemats!
