Explore a new side of machine embroidery when you stitch your favorite designs on canvas fabric! We used a canvas paint-by-number set and added in appliqué designs from our Leaping Ladies collection by Rashida Coleman-Hale – 80369. Step 1

Prepare your applique fabric by applying Fusible Woven to the back of each piece. Make sure it is larger than the piece of applique fabric. For this project, we will be using the general cut in place applique instructions.

Step 2

Hoop one layer of StabilStick TearAway.

Step 3

Remove paper backing by using the Perfect Scoring Tool. Float the canvas onto the hoop, adhering it to the sticky part of the stabilizer.

Step 4

Using your machine, line the design up to where you want it placed on your artwork. You can use our StabilStick template sheets to help position design on the canvas.

Step 5

Stitch the first step. Place applique fabric over the placement stitch.

Step 6

Stitch second step: Cut line and tack down. Cut the applique fabric along the cut line.

Continue stitching the remaining steps.

Step 8

Remove from hoop and carefully cut away excess stabilizer. Continue tearing away the remaining stabilizer away from the design.

Step 9

With a low heat, and using the Perfect Embroidery Press Cloth, press your design and straighten out the canvas.

Step 10

Repeat for your desired number of applique designs. Hang your artwork and show it off!
