by Laura Pifer, Trash to Couture

I love these freestanding lace designs from the OESD collection Halloween Couture. I wanted to do so many different projects; the ideas are endless. I love that this tee can be worn throughout the year and not just October! I was going to put this one on a hoody but wanted to show some other options on what could be done with these designs. Get the details below and make your own.
Supplies
- OESD’s Halloween Couture #12513
- OESD AquaMesh WashAway Stabilizer
- Embroidery Thread
- Expert Embroidery Tape TearAway
- T-shirt
Instructions
Stitch the freestanding lace designs – Web FSL #12513-30 and two Spider FSL #12513-29

Run the pieces through water to remove the water-soluble stabilizer. Use the Expert Embroidery Tape TearAway to position the web where ever you’d like. I chose the top corner of the t-shirt. Be mindful of placement, we will cut out the shirt behind the web.

Use a satin stitch or a zigzag and sew the web to the shirt along the outer stitches. If the t-shirt is thin it may help by adding some water-soluble stabilizer on the wrong side of the shirt just under the web for additional support.

Flip the shirt wrong side out and cut a hole in the center of the web only on the t-shirt material… proceed to cut as such leaving just about 1/4″ from the edge of the web stitching.

Press the cut triangles down.

Sew along the outer edge just along the outer stitches of the web.

Flip wrong side out and trim the additional material.

Now add the spider. I just stitched along the outer edges to secure it.

For the back of the shirt, I added another spider with a straight stitch going down the back…

I love my spooky tee! Great for wearing all through October!
